Our History

Litetec 1985

Starting out as Litetec Ltd in 1985 founded by Denise and Paul. They initially specialised in fibre optics. What began as a small, home-based operation quickly expanded, with the team growing rapidly to establish Litetec as a leading supplier and specialist in fibre optics. Today, the company operates from its headquarters in Essex, supported by a dedicated manufacturing facility in Doncaster.

Branching into Sensory

In 2010, Litetec seized the opportunity to expand into the sensory sector. Leveraging our expertise as fibre optic specialists, we quickly established ourselves as one of the UK’s leading designers, manufacturers, and installers of sensory rooms. We take pride in delivering innovative solutions and products, all proudly made in the UK.

Today, we are proud to be market leaders, driven by a passionate, second-generation family team with first-hand knowledge and extensive experience supporting individuals with special needs. Our portfolio includes collaborations with some of the UK’s most prestigious names, including Alton Towers, Ascot Racecourse, Chessington, and Baby Sensory. We even feature our very own immersive Sensory Room at Legoland, showcasing our expertise in creating innovative, engaging, and accessible environments.

Our Vision

Total Sensory UK Ltd is now led by husband-and-wife team James and Laura, who bring both passion and first-hand understanding of the challenges parents face, as their own son has special educational needs. With over 25 years of combined experience in designing and creating Sensory Rooms, Padded Rooms, and Multi-Sensory Products, they have built a reputation for innovative, high-quality sensory solutions across the UK. Their unique combination of deep industry knowledge and personal insight allows us to offer a solutions-focused approach. Today, supported by a small but highly skilled team who a majority of them have been with us since we started in 2010, Total Sensory UK Ltd continues to expand whilst offering competitive pricing, providing expert sensory solutions, equipment, and environments for schools, care facilities, and families throughout the UK.
